Overview

Worst idea technique (or negative brainstorming) is an ideation tool that alleviates the concern of criticism by welcoming terrible ideas and create a more enjoyable atmosphere as people try to amuse one another and use their imaginations to come up with crazy ideas.

Quick Guide

1. Each participant writes a bad idea
2. A facilitator will ask each participant to write down all the attributes that make their idea so bad
3. Each participant is asked to turn those awful characteristics into viable solutions
